Tubbs Instagram Giveaway

I am so in love with Instagram. It is like a little micro blog that I can just randomly take pictures of cats, and projects, and cats and projects. The point is, if you aren’t on Instagram yet, you should be, it’s like a super fun party! I hit my first 500 followers yesterday, so to celebrate I’m having a giveaway over on my account. You could win a 3″ hand embroidered Tubbs from Neko Atsume. I have a love-hate relationship  with Tubbs. If you pop on over, follow me, like the picture and tag a friend, you are entered into a draw for Tubbs! It’s open internationally, so anyone can enter. Don’t want to wait? I do have Tubbs in the shop that you can just snag now.

Your guide to avoiding spiders and getting cool lootz

Hey guys!  It’s that time of year again where we head to Toronto for March Comicon (MTAC).  As with previous years, this year the show floor will be littered with spiders.   Huge spiders.  Spiders the size of your head.  Because I care about you so much, I have put together a map to help you avoid the spiders and reach us at booth A130 in Artists Alley.

We are really excited about seeing everyone again this year.  We have a bunch of new geeky embroideries to hang on your wall and make all of your friends jealous.  We have Pokemon Gym Badges.  We have our dashing good looks.  You really can’t afford to miss this one.

What are you most excited about?  For me, it’s Jason Loo (creator of the Pitiful Human Lizard) and Rob Liefeld (creator of Deadpool).  It’s also really cool that Luna and Artemis from Sailor moon will be there along with Sailor Moon, Mars, Jupiter and Tuxedo Mask!  Tell us in the comments what you are looking forward to (hint: Nerds and Needles) and we will see you next weekend.

I’m done here.

Free Pattern Friday: Team Rocket Cross Stitch

Good news everyone!

I don’t know if you’re aware of it or not, but Instagram is for more than just posting selfies and pictures of your dinner and cats. How is that sentence possibly related to the title? You wanted a free pattern, not this Instagram lesson. The point is, if you dig enough, there is actually this super cool crafting community. There are brave people who organize specialized swaps among all those who seek to find it. The first one I joined was the Pokemon Swap. If you followed us as Geekopolis, you know that Pokemon is a big deal here, so I was super excited when I made it in. The swaps aren’t juried, but signups vary in time. Some are until a max amount of people sign up, some are time sensitive. I’ve been making lots of patterns for this swap, not just for me, but for the awesome people I’ve found through this hidden jewel of a community. My favourite pattern so far is my Team Rocket one so I’ve decided to share it with you. The pattern is a pdf. The colours look a little strange in the pattern, but when I made it for my pattern, they match quite nicely.

Free Pattern Friday: Companion Cube

Hello Everyone! Keep your eyes peeled because I am going to be adding a free, yes free!, pattern here every Friday.

This week is inspired by Valve’s masterpiece, Portal. I love that game. Of all the things though, I love the companion cube the most. I spent far too long trying to figure out a way to bring it with me through the test chamber.
